Lullaby

I've always loved the work of the late legendary poet W. H. Auden, and was inspired to write a song to his classic poem Lullaby. Fortunately his publisher, Curtis Brown, Ltd., was amenable to the idea, and gave me permission to quote the text in the song. I can't say it better than this unattributed review:

"Auden's recognition of the interdependence of Eros and Agape is at the heart of perhaps the greatest love poem of the century, the grave and tender Lullaby (1937), which moves so nimbly and with such grace among abstractions evoked so subtly that it may well be regarded as the premiere example of the poet's intellectual lyricism."
