Ballet of the Mind was composed in 2013-2014 under the encouraging and able tutelage of Steve Rothstein, PhD., my friend and composition mentor at UCLA. I'm also grateful to friend and gifted pianist Robert Thies for helping revise and edit this piece in 2016, with a view to making it more playable and readable. Special thanks to my assistant Jonathan Marozik for his help in creating & refining the mp3 reference files.

This composition mirrors my own journey navigating new life paths and musical adventures, an odyssey which I'm hopeful will last some years. Classical music performance and composition is a demanding task master, but yields a satisfaction for creators, performers and listeners that is precious and rare in our information-overload, soundbite-per-second world.

Ballet of the Mind is dedicated in gratitude to my late parents, who gave me the gift of musical instruction and profound love and encouragement at a very young age.
