"Oh Liberty!" (Patriotic Anthem — 2005)
I wrote Oh Liberty! in honor of the concept of liberty, all of America's veterans (including my late father), and the Liberty Memorial Monument and Museum in Kansas City, Missouri (where I grew up).
Regardless of where we each may stand politically, there's little argument that the concept of "liberty" is an important one.
Sincerest thanks to tenor Nathan Granner for allowing me to use his performance of Oh Liberty! for this video, and to Mark Koval for a wonderful orchestration. Oh Liberty! has been performed by two symphony orchestras so far — the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra (Memorial Day 2005), and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (Independence Day 2010).
